RHAPSODY IS FOR SALE!

MONDAY  FEBRUARY 8, 2010

We're just back at the Elliott Bay Marina in Seattle after spending the last ten days at the Seattle Boat's Afloat boat show.  We saw lots of old friends and made some new ones.  In fact, hundreds of people toured Rhapsody and the near universal response was "Wow!  Easily the best boat in the show!"    Thanks for the complements!  We agree (and we're not biased in the least!)    Many people had seen the great photos we had taken by Neil Rabinowitz of Rhapsody's interior and exterior so they came expecting to be impressed (Visit the Gallery to take a look).  Still, we heard over and over the comment, "The pictures just don't do her justice."    Bottom line - we have some interested parties "circling", but no one's signed on the dotted line yet so Rhapsody is still available.

WEDJESDAY  JANUARY 27, 2010

We're off today to the Seattle Boat's  Afloat boat show at Chandler's Cove on Lake Union.  The show opens up this Friday (Jan 29) and runs through Saturday February 6.  We'll be in the Nordhavn section.  Stop by and see us if you get a chance!

TUESDAY JANUARY 19, 2010

We've decided to list Rhapsody for sale with Nordhavn Northwest - the same folks who built her.  Don Kohllman and Jeff Merrill will be representing her.   These are the same guys we bought Rhapsody from and they're great.  You can reach Don at (206) 223-3624 or by e-mail at Don.Kohlmann@Nordhavn.com.  You can also still use the info@Rhapsody55.com email link.

Here's a copy of an ad that appears in the March 2010 edition of Passagemaker Magazine (which should be on the shelves in early Ferbuary):

TUESDAY  DECEMBER 29, 2009

This past fall, Michelle and I came to the reluctant conclusion that now was the time for us to sell Rhapsody.   The poor national economic conditions are forcing us to spend much more time on our business than we had originally planned.  We don't see this changing for the forseeable future.   Our boating will, by necessity, be of the "slash and dash" variety - short, quick trips to the San Juan Islands or Victoria, BC.  For these day trips or weekend trips, Rhapsody is both overkill on the one hand and ill-suited on the other.  Overkill because we don't need a floating home for these trips and ill-suited because Rhapsody is built for long distance cruising.  Slow, steady, very fuel efficient.  We now need a fast, quick boat and we're not so concerned about fuel economy because the trips are short.

For these reasons, we've decided to place Rhapsody on the market.  Given the economy, it's clearly a "Buyer's Market" today - someone's going to get a heck-of-a-deal - far below replacement cost.

If you're in the market for a one-of-a-kind, mini-mega yacht, we urge you to send me an e-mail at
info@Rhapsody55.com.
